The Joyful Closet is open multiple Saturdays throughout the year for free shopping! In between shopping days, the Joyful Closet is open by appointment for families in need. The Joyful Closet accepts donations from the community of gently used and new clothings and home items throughout the week. Contact Marxy Lindsey for more information. The Joyful Closest is located on the FBC Camden campus at 348 W Washington St. in Camden. The Ruby Snider Ministry Center provides support to Ouachita County families in need through their food pantry and thrift store. The Ruby Snider Ministry Center is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 6 - 7 p.m. Partnering churches from the Liberty Baptist Association serve each week. FBC Camden serves at partners with Ruby Snider Ministry Center through donations and serving on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The Ruby Snider Ministry Center is located at 133 Haynes Ave NW in Camden. The Hannah Center in Ouachita County was established in 1999. Hannah has served thousands of women, communicating God’s love by providing free and confidential life-affirming services to those facing pregnancy decisions. The Hannah Center provides ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, counseling, and other life skills classes for women and their children. FBC Camden supports the Hannah Center through prayer and partnership, and the annual Baby Bottle Fundraiser every January. The Hannah Center is located at 126 E Washington St in Camden. Our partnerships with different churches and organizations are united together under one vision: to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. We are invested, involved and connected in these relationships for the long run, learning from one another and ministering to one another. We initiate all partnerships and maintain them by a mutual agreement. Outside our partnerships, we have support relationships that allow us to resource and assist churches and organizations. With a long and treasured history of serving the Camden community, Ouachita County, and the state of Arkansas, the historic FBC Camden campus is located in the heart of downtown Camden, Arkansas at the corner of Washington St. and California Ave. FBC Camden has been home to thousands of believer over the past 180+ years. FBC Camden is biblically-founded, Jesus-following, and people-loving community that seeks to point people towards the one and only true God. Stephen grew up in Central Arkansas and then attended Ouachita Baptist University before starting his journey in local ministry. Pastor Stephen has twenty years of ministry experience leading people to love Jesus. Over the past three years, he has led FBC Camden through the process of enrichment and revitalization. Dr. Watson also serves as an adjunct professor in the Pruet School of Christian Studies at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. You can expect friendly and authentic people, engaging and relevant music and worship, compelling preaching from the Bible, and an opportunity to encounter God. You can expect to find a place where creativity and fellowship come together to worship God in new and exciting ways. You can expect to be encouraged, challenged, convicted, excited and, most importantly, welcomed. The mission of FBC Camden is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can contact the church office at hello@fbccamden.org. Stephen grew up in Arkansas and has served in the local church for the last 20 years in Louisiana, Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas. After studying music at Ouachita Baptist University, Stephen attended seminary at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for both Master's and Doctoral studies. Stephen has been married to Danielle for 17 years, and they have three daughters, Hallie, Harper, and Hope. Stephen has served as the Lead Pastor at FBC Camden since 2023. When not at the church, Stephen is the ultimate girl dad, following his daughters around at softball fields, volleyball courts, and hunting down a few local deer. Stephen also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Chat Ouachita Baptist University. Zeb and his family are new to Camden. Zeb grew up a missionary kid in Africa and Australia. Zeb is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. After spending several years in Arkadelphia, working at Henderson State University and pastoring a Shady Grove Baptist Church, Zeb and his family moved to Camden, wher works at Lockheed Martin in Camden. Zeb is married to his wife, Ashton, and they have one son, Oliver. Jen and her family are long time members of FBC Camden. Jen is active in our Kids and Student Ministries, and teaches one of our elementary-age Life Groups are Sunday mornings.Jen has served on staff at FBC Camden since January 2025. Jen is married to Josh and has three kiddos - Jude, Chase and Wren. LIKE ARROWS IN THE HANDS OF A WARRIOR ARE CHILDREN BORN IN ONE’S YOUTH. BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE QUIVER IS FULL OF THEM. THEY WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME WHEN THEY CONTEND WITH THEIR OPPONENTS IN COURT. # **HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY KIDS?** ### FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH In our Kids Ministry, our mission is to help kids find their way back to God, connect with others, and contribute to changing the world. We believe that kids have the capacity to walk intimately with God, and we love to see them learn about Him and connect with Him through Bible stories, songs, and crafts. FIRST KIDS is a place for us to come alongside parents to see kids grow in their faith and understanding of Jesus. On Sundays, our FIRST KIDS Life Groups study God's word with trained volunteers who love and care for them. On Wednesdays, we have Kickstart where kids participate in Bible study, recreation, crafts, missions and discipleship. We have many opportunities throughout the year for kids and families to connect and grow such as VBS, Kids Camp, and outreach events. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry, and it’s an honor to serve with each and every one of them as they love on kids each week! Every volunteer who leads in the Kids Ministry has had a background check and is committed to making the ministry a safe, Biblically relevant, and fun environment for your kids. Each Sunday, you will need to check your child into our Kids Ministry. Either a wristband will be filled out by parents or parents will be asked to Check-In on the computer and print out a name tag and a claim tag will be given or printed for parents to present at Check-Out. Both formats will include your child’s name as well as information regarding specific allergies. From there you will walk them to their age-specific classroom. When you return at the end of service you will Check-Out your child by signing them out or checking them out on the computer and then handing the claim tag to the teacher. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. Thus, we intentionally strive toward community through men's/women's groups, home gatherings, and other personal settings. We have been created to live in community and not in isolation. Physically, we do live in a community, but spiritually, socially, and relationally we often live our lives in isolation. We find ourselves with no one to turn to when we have a major issue that has just surfaced in our life. Living in community affords us the opportunity to more wholly experience God through close relationships as we play and pray together, as we encourage and help one another, and as we study and live out God’s word together. We believe the church is the family of God called to live on mission to advance His Kingdom. Because we are God's children through Jesus, we are to live as brothers and sisters. The church is not a building, place, or program, but God's people. Living in community with one another is essential to growing in the Gospel and becoming more like Christ. Showing up to a Sunday gathering is great, but it is our desire to see everyone involved in a Missional Community. A Missional Community is not a mid-week program, but a family of missionary servants who are making disciple-making disciples daily. We would love to see all of our Missional Communities hanging out throughout the week, eating meals together and serving their neighborhoods. It is not something you check off a list, but a way of doing life. Currently, we have seven Missional Communities and are multiplying continually. SUFFICIENT FOR THE DAY IS ITS OWN TROUBLE. # **OUR MISSION** ### FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH In our Student Ministry, our mission is to help kids find their way back to God, connect with others, and contribute to changing the world. We believe that kids have the capacity to walk intimately with God, and we love to see them learn about Him and connect with Him through Bible stories, songs, and crafts. First Camden Students is a place for students from all over south Arkansas to hear the message of the gospel. We foster discipleship relationships with mentors, families, and peers. First Camden Students value worshipping God through the teaching of his word and corporate cross-generational gatherings of the church. In addition to corporate worship gatherings, we provide student retreats, DNOW weekend, Beach Camp and service opportunities both locally and globally. We value making a kingdom impact in our families, schools, city, and world. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry, and it’s an honor to serve with each and every one of them as they love on kids each week! Every volunteer who leads in the Student Ministry has had a background check and is committed to making the ministry a safe, Biblically relevant, and fun environment for your kids. First Student Ministry exists so that every student knows that Jesus loves them and that his purpose is to be center of their lives. Our students gather each week on Sundays at 9:30am for Life Groups and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. for Midweek where they have intentional Bible Study and learn to Know God, Love God and Praise God. First Camden is committed to providing students with opportunities to connect with other students through Life Groups, Wednesday Midweek, camps, mission trips, and opportunities to serve in the church and in our community.
